If it wasn’t for Luddites we’d still have a 6 day work week and most likely still forced church on Sunday.

When the only day off work was the day everyone had to go to Church, people really fucking enjoyed going to church

Getting to go sit down for all day and listen to some dude read a language you didn’t even understand would have been the best shit ever.

It’s no coincidence that after getting an actual free day to relax, people started re-evaulting how much of their Sundays were spent in church. That shit used to literally last all day.

Luddites really need to be looked back on as pioneers who advanced society. They got a bad wrap because they stuck it to the oligarchs, and oligarchs write the history books.

In a lot of countries going to church wasn’t optional either, you had to. Where I am from it wasn’t abolished as early as you would think either.

      They also weren’t actually anti-technology, just anti-exploitation.

      (Also it’s “bad rap,” BTW.)
