Yep. You do you first and foremost. Then deal with the haters. I like my arms and legs trimmed down to 1/8". I also like my balls smooth. I can compromise and leave some bush up top if that’s what my partner wants (though now that my wife is dead no one else to comment I guess) but the others are not really up for debate.

I also agree with that other guy that trimming your armpits goes a long way to helping look clean and not being overly sweaty. But a solid no to shaving them smooth. So uncomfortable and problematic when it starts to grow back.

I asked my ex gf once if I should shave, her reply was that it didn’t matter to her.

Several weeks later while I was shaving my beard, I had one of those sporadic moments where I thought to myself…why not? So I kept shaving. Shaved my head, chest etc, everything. By the time I was done I was more aerodynamic than a fighter jet.

My gf refused to talk to me after that for two weeks.

I was tempted to, but I was concerned people would think I’m a chemo patient so I left them alone.

Just checking: did she not talk to you because you were too slippery, too scratchy, you turned out to have looked better with your netherbeard, or because you left hair all over the bathroom?

I think it was several things, but the reason she gave me was that I looked too young. ( I was in my mid-40’s and only a few years younger than her.)

I suspect that her bi-polar issues played into that though as well. She was a very difficult person to keep happy.

I keep everything groomed but never really shave anything smooth.

I’ve tried it and it feels nice for a second but the itching/scratching as it grows back just isn’t worth it.

But I keep basically my entire body “groomed” to some extent, I just use some electric clippers and a short guards. You want it long enough to not be scratchy or itchy, but short enough to not be a tangled mess.

      I’m a hairy adult btw.

Because of the extreme bendiness of a flaccid penis, and the highly dynamic forces at play in the crotch area during everyday activities like walking, sitting, lying in bed, transitioning between positions, and wearing clothes, people sometimes end up with a pube caught inside their foreskin.

I occasionally shave my armpits. Having hair pop out of your shirt sleeves is not a great look, and I find they’re less sweaty when shaved.

Trim the pubes, no need to go completely smooth. If you go completely smooth it is itchy when it grows back, plus you’ll notice it a LOT more when it gets sweaty. I guess it could be the same for chest hair?
