    The point is for developers to have control over their own vision. If you want to be running a real time AI generated visual for a “pick your own adventure” document then I don’t think “video game” is the proper term for it nor should it be corroded into that.

    Creative works are dictated by the Authors and makers. If you want something tailored to your specific taste go make it, don’t expect others to serve it for you.

      DLSS 5 looks horrendous but let’s not pretend gamers haven’t been able to reshade and mod the everloving shit out of games for decades. Saying it’s not a real game because someone decided they wanted to slap on a cel-shade filter or turn the art director’s carefully crafted dragon into Thomas the Tank Engine isn’t really a defensible position.

      I suppose consumers shouldn’t have any choice over frame rates, textures, or resolution either, right?

      I don’t want that at all. That’s the entire point.

      I absolutely expect them to serve it for me. That’s literally what I pay them to do.
