Heh, so there is work for CS majors in one field… Sigh.
I had a promising career option at my workplace. Guess what field it would have put me in… Sigh.
there was work before 2020? i know people who graduated with CS degrees before pandemic couldnt even step foot in a tech company, plus the state uni i went to had people complaining about it. CS seems geared towards grad school more often than not. bio(not health) often is paired with cs has next to low job prospects.
So… Here’s another resource that will become available again once the bubble pops?
Those who can’t do… teach
I’ve said this before, but I’ve come to regret it. As a phrase it requires a sentiment that is false and grounded in the notion that the market is efficient at dealing out worth to people rather than dealing out perceived profitability.
Teaching can be incredibly rewarding; research can be incredibly rewarding. To teach things well you must have a good grasp of material. It is a sad thing that such a worthy endeavor doesn’t pay more.
being a professor of CS would require someone with a PHD in general, i doubt many CS will go for grad schools to become, most assume they can get one with a BA/BS in CS, but those jobs seems few and far between.
