The man died comfortable, surrounded by wealth and loved ones, never once having to answer for his crimes. That’s not karma.
Were you there? How would you possibly know how comfortable he was?
It was a very short illness. There is no way to pack that much suffering into that short a time. Suffering even moderately over a long period of time is way, way worse.
I’ll agree with you for sure that it wasn’t as bad as he deserved.
We don’t know for sure. Maybe he was in terrible pain, briefly. Let’s just keep that possibility to make us feel better.
