Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup, a really good traditional roguelike, often considered one of the four pillars of the genre along with NetHack, ADOM, and TOME. (Those are on Steam, however; Crawl is not.)

And yet I’ve already found multiple reviews stating that they bought it on Steam before knowing the game was free elsewhere. So it seems to me that by not mentioning anywhere on the Steam page that this is a donation to the dev, that’s a little shady.

Worth playing. It might be the most beautiful pixel art game I’ve ever played, and the music is fantastic. Just don’t expect any groundbreaking RPG mechanics. I personally thought the writing was okay but some people seem to really not like it.

Get a PSP emulator like PPSSPP and play the original Puzzle Quest. Such an awesome RPG-ified match 3 game, never found a game like it. (Gems of War is a decent enshittified version of it though if you want more.)

You Must Build a Boat and 10000000 are also pretty good.
