The laptop’s internal drive is still factory fresh. Ask your IT guy, he might be cool with that. The laptop itself is unchanged. Windows OEM license untouched.

You just chose to boot to it from the BIOS. I set it to always boot to Linux by default and Windows as a fallback.

Technically, it’s not live booting. It’s normally installed, just on an external drive. The OS doesn’t feel the difference. You just chose to boot to it from the BIOS. I set it to always boot to Linux by default and Windows as a fallback.
