Today’s game is Mario Kart 8. I was playing with some friends today, and I decided that no more will I lag behind in my inferior skills when it comes to 200 CC. No more will I throw myself off cliffs. I will beat them all. So after we played a few races I went into time trials and practiced like some weird training. The results… were negligible.

I did well on 150 CC for Mario Circuit, but 200 CC I kept completely losing. I need to get the hang of Brake Drifting first I think and then I stand a chance.

Beyond my troubles with 200 CC though, it’s great to hangout with friends on games like this. Cheeseland is my favorite course. Everyone else seems to hate it but the game keeps picking it so… I guess I win.

Despite my complaining earlier about 200 CC, I find games like this being Social Hour more so than an actual competition. It’s interesting because a lot of games turn into this for my group. Halo? Eventually we space out and start chatting instead of actually killing each other. Smash Bros? We spend more time horsing around than anything. Even something like REPO by the 5th level we’re sat around the campfire and the game world has become more of a vehicle to add to the experience of socializing rather than what it was meant for.

Brake Drifting is definitely what’s been helping me the most. It’s like the equivalent of getting glasses. I’ll try the lighter characters though, i think it will definitely be some help considering i struggle a lot
When 200cc first came out I move from Rosalina to Isabelle and haven’t looked back.
I liked bigger chars on bikes before, Waluigi on the Wario Bike was my fav on mkwii. But 200cc is something else.
Damn, both Rosalina and Waluigi are my go to characters. I’ll have to consider Isabelle too i suppose
