Personally, I think it was a pile of shit. I remember the TV show tie-in being promoted endlessly on Nickelodeon and nothing felt more forced. It really boggles my mind how such a piece of crap could get the go ahead from so many others. Is it money laundering? Some rich kids with connections needed an excuse to justify wasting their time and money on “creative” degrees while lacking any talent whatsoever?

It wasn’t particularly good at all, just…okay…
The studio behind it and a lot of the programming talent at the company had primarily worked on arcade ports and movie tie in games by that point (super Star Wars series, Mortal Kombat ports, NFL Blitz ports)
Companies were HUNGRY for 3D animated mascot characters at the time, so a creative at an established studio showing up with an entire character sheet and video game idea probably sounded like a top tier idea to Nickelodeon in the late 90s / early 2000s.
It obviously did well enough for a sequel and Nick threw their weight behind a show as well.
Seems they did well enough for themselves to get bought up by Disney and made games for them for over a decade before finally landing the opportunity to make Hogwarts Legacy.
Good on them for sticking around for so long. Most don’t last that long.
Damn I had no idea it was the same company that made Hogwarts Legacy. I actually really liked that game.
