are these nuts that have been taken from a dog and then miniaturized, or nuts taken from a miniaturized dog?

or, perhaps the dog was not miniaturized, but rather was a small dog in its own right to begin with, one that was only “miniature” in comparison with other, larger-sized dogs, and not as a result of an artificial miniaturization procedure

in either case, the labeling is certainly ambiguous, and could possibly be clarified with a well-placed hyphen. hopefully shoppers would be quick to catch on to the difference between a “mini-dog nut” and a “mini dog-nut”.

but then, what could a “mini-dog-nut” be?
