I had to check the date on this post due to the XIV avatar.

Definitely keep clean and use deo, but I remember the last major XIV convention in NA was so poorly planned out that it had massive lines of people waiting outside in the late July summer heat in Las Vegas. It’s a bit of an unfortunate situation.

Yeah, I cannot understand how people can go out into public spaces for prolonged periods of time without showering beforehand. Get your head in the game people! I can’t even smell and I know I smell infinitely better than those showerless people because I shower, use deodorant, and a little cologne, unlike them.

I shower twice a year whether I need it or not and it’s not my problem if that schedule coincides with the furcon thank you very much.

My buddy’s parents used to own a comic book store, and they regularly had to turn away Magic The Gathering players for smelling too bad. They even had a sign that they’d put up on the door on Fridays (Friday was MTG night) that said something along the lines of “we reserve the right to refuse service if you smell like you haven’t showered all week”

these places really need to get some kind of mental health assistance outreach recommendation. IDK , a depression hotline number or fucking something.

I was once at a convention and talked to a comic book store owner. He gave me his card and i went there a few weeks later. The store was pretty cool, you had to walk down two stairs to even reach the “bunker” it was very modern and clean. It was friday, and apparently that’s when they played MTG that day. I have never even seen people play card games aside from the few at the convention. Holy shit, that store, especially around the tables where the people played smelled absolutely rancid. I’m used to bad smelling apartments because of my job, but this was crazy. I told the owner that i’ll go out to smoke a few times. I don’t smoke, i didn’t want to puke on the floor.
