You know what the crackhead close to my job is dancing in the midle of the street. He is not thinking about bills, politics, wars, money… he is just vibbing and cracking. I’m starting to think he is the really wise one.

At most companies there’s no option. You have to do the random drug they’re testing or risk termination.

Ugh, I hate random drug tests, it is the exact same thing as the big box stuff and it always tastes like someone pissed in the cup.

No corporation can legally force you to test their drugs unless you willingly sign some legally binding agreement consenting to being tested on. There are a very few corporations who test experimental drugs prior to public release and offer to pay some kind of compensation, but I doubt IBM or Ford are going to force an employee to have drugs tested on them as a matter of contractual employment.

Wow. Either people are being sarcastic or everyone is missing the joke of taking drugs vs. being tested for having taken drugs.

Such as an employment contract that includes it in the fine print 🤷

That’s just because it’s under an NDA. IBM is all about the ayahuasca and if you’re gonna work at Ford, you can’t be skipping Methadone Mondays or THC Thursdays.

At least in the US, we’re at will employment. So while we may not be able to forced to pee in a cup, we can and will be terminated if we don’t comply.

Most places that have heavy machinery or manufacturing have formal drug policies with random testing. I have a relative that’s an electrician and he’s been randomly selected and had a coworker fail a test. Instead of firing the guy outright, they gave him an option to go to some class instead. He quit and changed careers given that choice.
