i think it’s because this style of social media is familiar to those of us who used bbs/irc/forums that were prominent in the 1990’s; while the younger crowd prefers short form content.
I somehow missed the twitter craze by accident. Was active on Myspace and then Facebook, but I always preferred my forums. Once I left all other social media, reddit was all that was left, and now Lemmy. It feels a lot more like what I miss, but still isn’t quite the same
i was wondering if lemmings were too young or this movie too old for people to get the reference. lol
