There is no universal measure of INTELLIGENCE. IQ can absolutely be measured but the question is whether or not it’s representative of something we care about. The fact that you open with “dumb” then say something that is patently incorrect is insanely on the nose.
I agree, let’s give more voting power to people who are more likely to have made more considered choices and stop pretending like every vote is the same. Far and away most people are not so bright. In the same way that BMI is not a good measure of health, IQ is not a good measure of intelligence. On the borderline it means nothing, but a BMI of 200 is not good and neither is an IQ of 74 and I’m all for screening at that quality.
In the late 18th century US it made sense to make everyone equal and every vote equal (leaving aside slavery and gender inequality) because by and large access to information and education WAS equal. In the end of 2025, that is unfortunately just not true. People and opinions are striated and that is worth some consideration.
