The name is CyricZ, and he is the reason the west can get platinum in this series. Over the years, he wrote the best guides on gamefaqs one can ask for. His appearance on reddit has been seen as a second coming of Christ lol.

Back to the problem, a lot of controversies followed the recent announcements, and besides dumb rereleases and unlisting of “legacy” remasters, CyricZ is very unhappy that remaster of Yakuza 3 with added campaign includes a known harrasser and sexual assaulter Teruyuki Kagawa as the voice and the face of the antagonist.

Although that remaster means fixing known issues with fighting gameplay, and also adding a lot new things, I myself respect and join people who wouldn’t want to support that.

I’ve seen too much news involving cowardice and hypocrisy. It’s nice to see someone take a principled stand.

Sega relies entirely on Sonic fans’ goodwill to remain “reputable”, everything else they’re absolute assholes. Good time to remember that Sammy, a pachinko business, saved Sega with a merger back in 2004. Execs knew damn well that it was much better for their PR to be called Sega, despite Sammy calling the shots.

The main character of Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth gets sexually assaulted several times during the side quests. From kissing to sex, it’s always verbally and physically non-consensual. He gets strapped to a table in one of them.

But it’s women doing it so it’s funny, I guess

Edited to add: this is specifically what I’m replying to

The Like A Dragon Series has a long-standing history of opposing sexual misconduct in all its forms

    No it does not.

There’s a pretty big difference between real sexual harassment and fictional sexual harassment as entertainment. One actually affects humans negatively and the other is just a matter of tastes.

Did you read what he wrote…? He claims hiring this guy goes against the messaging in the games. The messaging in the last game included “rape is comedic topic when it happens to a man”

Of course it’s different to actual assault but it’s pretty sick that you’re defending it as an acceptable form of humor.

It’s acceptable to a lot of people. I don’t care for it but I’m not for censorship. I don’t think it’s funny and it’s also extremely played out. It’s hack material.

I’m 100% for firing and not hiring actual sexual predators.

Yes, it’s in bad taste. Still not anywhere as bad as actually doing in real life. Treating them both as equal is nonsense and/or disingenuous.

None of these games are very PC. Even the most modern ones have humor and ideas stuck firmly in the early 90s and can be in extremely poor taste across all manner of things from misoginy, classism, racism, agism and ablism.

Read what he posted. He said the series is against sexual misconduct which is what I’m “debunking”

        • And I’m agreeing with you by adding more context. They’re not PC at all. Even in the way they show sexual misconduct as being bad is through the lens of a “white knight” mindset (male lead must rescue the damsel) or for creepy gross-out gags (old, homeless man flashing people on the street that you must catch).
