I had a long convo with my buddy yesterday about something like this… he mentioned a Mario character playing in Elden Ring. So, I believe people are excited for a new gaming era… one of any possibilities. IMO, the gaming community has ensured some really cruddy game mechanics thrust upon everyone… maybe this will help mitigate those hostile decisions?

Not the way it’s being done now. As I understand, this is sort of like green screening a character from one game into the other, without the actions actually working the way you’d imagine. Also, there’s a nonstop deluge of games coming out all the time with great mechanics.

Interesting. And yes, I agree there are games coming out with great mechanics … but also games coming out with exploitative mechanics.

Shit like this was fun when people had to actually do shit to make it happen. When people learned skills and did the impossible for the sake of a joke they thought of.

When it’s just some idle, lazy slop, it’s dull and uninteresting. It’s not a human accomplishment for humor, its just some idiot jacking off into the plagiarism box.

I mean, game modding where you put x game’s y asset in z game is 99 percent plagerism and copyright infringement to begin with, regardless of how you do it. Unless you make something wholly original, you’re technically illegal, and even then, in the USA, there’s the DMCA, where breaking, bypassing, or reverse engineering any encryption is itself illegal.

In this case, at least the lazy slop would be free. We already get lazy slop that is dull and uninteresting from game studios that expect us to pay for it.

We’re paying for this unimaginative slop in our utility and tax bills. It’s just trash through and through.

Also this is a meme post that goes against the community rules.
