Cocaine. Jesus fuck. I’m not particularly angry with you, OP, just at the trend of advertiser friendly self-censoring that’s making its way into the fediverse.

I’ve long wondered what makes people listen to jazz. Now we know

Personally, I would have expected something more psychedelic and less Wall Street 🤷

I mean, jazz goes from like Kenny G to Sun Ra. There’s a type of jazz for every drug trip, I’d like to believe.

          That’s a concept album right there 😁

Album? Hell, that’s a whole discography.

            The cocaine collection

            The heroin blues

            Marijuana mellow

            The ecstasy of sound

The band name better be “A Drug Supreme”…

Use it to do further research into how our always fleeting state of mind influences or preferences?

I sometimes see people treat preferences like they are a static part of a personality. This has never been my experience. There are clear environmental features that influence my desires in real time. I am pretty sure advertising companies have been aware of this for a while also.

This is misleading. The rats preferred the jazz music because it was played when they were given drugs. They were just associating the high with the music. The whole study was more cruel than informative or interesting.

Not that it would come as a surprise, but it would seem that Dwight and Angela haven’t done cocaine

If memory serves, they hated both Beethoven and Miles Davis. Then they began having jazz music played every time they were dosed with the cocaine. After a while they got excited when they heard the jazz because they thought it was time for their livener.
