Call of Duty company Activision are now in charge of Halo following Xbox cuts, with Halo Studios stripped and reduced to a support studio for existing games.

Halo is officially dead. It’s been dying for a while, this seals it.

For long time halo fans in the aughts, this is literally the last thing any of us ever wanted. Halo was always a completely different game than Call of Duty, but business never understood that and so today officially marks the end, where the Halo we knew is gone, and anything new will be a CoD clone more than anything else.

    The last thing I wanna see is Call of Duty: Spartan Ops or whatever the fuck, but let’s not pretend that 343/Halo Studios are any better. Their stewardship of the Halo franchise has been an unmitigated disaster from the start.

      Not only that, they’ve already switched hands at least once (depending on your take is the ship of Theseus). There are fans that didn’t like 2, 3, Reach, ODST, especially 4, 5, and Infinity.

      I’ll continue remembering the parts I enjoyed and I’m sure John Halo will continue his adventures in the hands of new people.
