I mean, just no. Flavored cigarettes were outlawed for this exact reason, and flavored Vapes probably should be too. They’re marketed directly towards teenagers in an effort to get young adults hooked on them for the rest of their lives. How hard is that to understand?
If you’re talking about the US the flavored cigarettes were banned as a backdoor way of shutting out foreign tobacco producers competing with domestic ones, had fuck all to do with protecting children.
I’m still importing flavored nic pouches from Sweden but one of my orders got seized by customs. Thankfully the vendor refunded me for it, but still a pain in the ass.
Adults like flavor, too.
Also, on the whole, isn’t nicotine consumption among kids on the downswing anyway? Take the wins where you have them. That has far more to do with making smoking un-cool (and millennials and X’er parents quitting in droves) than any sort of flavor ban.
And a lot of us quit (smoking, at least…we pivoted our addiction to one with less damning side effects) with…drumroll please…flavored vapes.
Right? I still think about the “grape” and “iced tea” flavored cigarettes I was able to buy in Korea. Absolutely delicious, better buzz, and didn’t make my mouth taste like an ash tray afterwards. Can’t get anything like that in the States.
Which, to the other commenters’ point, is probably good, because the ash-tray-mouth is a large contributor to why I no longer smoke.
Yep, same here. I was a pack a day for a decade, swapped from cigarettes to vape to lozenges to nothing, haven’t had any nicotine since 2017. It’s on the way out in general, as weed is legalized more widely that trend will probably hold.
Actually, “fuck them kids” seems to be the answer to why they do most things these days.

Just tried a vodka soda released in freezie flavors. Red, orange, blue, and white. They taste exactly like freezies, but have a couple in a row and you will realize the difference.

I don’t find it too surprising really. Alcohol is over on the “good” side of the list (despite having a godawful safety profile.)
