Criminal Negligence for everyone involved

So the AI did not make a decision. The AI has no authority nor ability to launch missiles (yet). Someone, one or more human beings did, and I use the term loosely. Those humans took the information that was fed to them by an AI, failed to verify the accuracy of the information despite it being common knowledge that AIs frequently hallucinate and make stuff up, and then proceeded to launch the attack.

In summary, it wasn’t the AI. One or more people took the advice of an AI and negligently murdered 123 little girls.

So this is like that, except instead of funding being cut, they murdered 123 children.

Lies! It was not and cannot be AI:

1- Triple strike . 2- It was of the first attacks of the first day. 3- in an isolated city far from Tahran. 4- It was followed by bombing kids gymnasium,

AND reminder 5- The US original plan was to deliver decapitative strikes! So the girl school was a chosen target among the decapitative strikes.

So they definately intentionally chose that target and had all the time to plan their sneak “decapitative” strikes which were done during negotations on the first hours of first day!
They wanted to hurt the IRGC commanders by slaughtering their daughters that way they create a shock and a motive for the commanders to stop following orders and choose to overthrow their government.

The same thing when they drowned 120 military graduate cadetes in an unarmed warship that just came out of a joint excersie thousands of miles away in the Indian sea where the US military also participated in! So 1- they knew it was unarmed, and knew these were graduate trainees. None of them were decision makers or high-value targets.

and 2- They wanted to kill them not only destroy their ship to degrade their government military capabilities and assets because they intentionally did not rescue any of them afterward.

Forced birthers cry about women having control over their own bodies but elect a guy that turned 123 children into little bits of charred flesh.

So Palantir / Peter theil don’t get any mention? They are ones supplying the system for the military no?

Yes, had they done it the old fashioned way, they could have killed far more school children as per American policy.

So who is ultimately responsible? AI isn’t something like an unfortunate mechanical failure (though even than someone bears responsibility). If the government is using AI for targeting military attacks, it sure better understand every single risk associated and be ready to swallow every ounce of responsibility. You don’t get to say “AI messed up, oops” and move on. You told the machine what to do, so you’re responsible. Every one of those school girls’ blood is on your hands.

Meh, I was having an argument with a coworker recently about AI’s evils, and all the doomsayers and apoca-hype profiteering that the big AI companies do. I think this article lays out more plainly what the risks of AI are in terms of ending the human race, than any of the claude-cult stock pumpers that come forward.

It won’t be some AGI super intelligence that ascends and then does away with humanity. It’ll be some random military sorts who get a prompt, and trigger a huge conflict / disaster based on bullshit fed to them from an AI. The AI won’t even do it ‘intentionally’, it’ll just be a convincing enough marionette’s lie, fed to a low enough IQ, to open fire.

I suspect that everyone in here complaining about AI didn’t actually read the article.

The article states that Palantir’s Maven system was over-relied on, and compressed a process that would have taken months into one that took days, but it also points out that that Maven didn’t actually make a mistake based on the way it was supposed to operate.

It sounds like some military personnel were mistaken in how much vetting and revetting maven itself would do, but the article also lays much of the blame at Hegseth’s gutting of the civilian harm roles, and failures in intelligence vetting and gathering that fed into maven in the first place. Years ago US intelligence personnel had flagged that Minab had turned into a school, but that information was not in the database used by maven.

Like I have no doubt that Maven is part of the problem, but it sounds like it was far from the only part.
