yt-dlp no longer works on youtube for me personally. i’ve read about workarounds but they are too advanced for me to understand.
however, it works fine on every porn site i have tried so far.
I am Lattrommi. Yes, that one. You’ve never heard of me? I’m not surprised. It is often said that anything you put on the internet will live there forever. It becomes immortal. I do everything backwards and wrong. I do not live forever, I am always dying. ¿|√∞²|?

i’m glad i got ram when i did. i picked up 128gb about a year and a half ago. cost me $535.98. right now on amazon the exact same amount is $2159.98. it felt like i was going unnecessarily overboard at the time but i was trying to future proof and for once had the money. i always feel like i’m missing out on deals usually and it finally feels like i got a win, even if it is only because of corporate greed.
I still have the slide as default and use it a lot. I have it set to slide when I mousewheel on the desktop and keep my taskbar shorter so there’s always some desktop showing in the corners. When I get frustrated with something though, I hit my key to activate the cube and the animation of it pulling away from the normal view works as like a disconnect from whatever I’m doing. Virtually stepping back basically.
Without the cube, I found I would get frustrated and instead of working on something else I would keep going and ultimately make mistakes and end up more frustrated. If I tried switching with the slide or fade to another project, the irritation stayed with me and I’d mess those other projects up too. The cube, for me, just worked.
I did have some success using the overview, however it was a lot more overwhelming with the way it shows everything, while the cube limits it to what’s on each cube face, without showing minimized windows at all.
When I updated KDE and found that I had lost the cube desktop switcher effect I was fairly put off on Wayland and made a lot of effort to get the cube back in various ways which did not go well. Now that it’s on Wayland, albeit slightly different, I am content with staying on Wayland. I can’t thank the people who ported it enough. It may seem like a trivial graphic effect to some but that fraction of a second that it uses when switching desktops is something that helps my ADHD tremendously. If I’m getting frustrated with a project I can switch to something else and something about that visualization helps me keep everything organized mentally. I use 4 virtual desktops, each with it’s own project subject matter, one for each side of the cube, excluding the top and bottom.
This meme imagary is from the movie Seven Psychopaths. It’s a very good movie.
Saying ‘prevention of theft’ is a poor suggestion on my end and an incorrect depiction of his motives and usage of Soulseek. I can’t say for sure really, he passed away in 2021 so I’ll never know his motives. I tried to think of a reason why someone might mark something private and that’s what I ended up with. I probably should have thought this through better.
He used a lot of samples for his music using multitracks, the releases from artists meant specifically for remixing and sampling and I believe searching for multitracks from lesser known artists was his main use for Soulseek, basically networking, not piracy, and that he also had poor file and project management?
I’m not sure how to convey the connection that I saw in my head. I probably should have left this post alone.
A friend of mine kept all his music in the same folder, including music he created. Prevention of theft might be a reason to mark as music, although this is a very niche use case.

also this: “The court decided that the plaintiffs did not have a Fourth Amendment claim against the city because there was no seizure when the defendants dropped explosives on the plaintiffs’ buildings, and that city officials and police officers had qualified immunity”

that’s one of the reasons i’m frustrated about not being able to afford or have the space necessary for solar power, not even some kind of barebones setup to try and pay for the rest of the needed stuff later, instead i’m looking forward to bartering my neat looking rocks and art pieces made from literal garbage for rice.
I thought I could write something worse and came up with this. it was not really a good idea. (i modified it so no one makes my mistake by blindly copy and pasting it. hopefully.)
if [[ -f ~./kitten.sh ]] # if the file kitten exists

echo "Killed kitten... )"; # announce the terrible deed.
# bash kitten.sh; # runs this kitten script again. do not remove # symbol at start of this line, unless you want to have a bad time.

First watch these:
When you have finished those, you should be filled with hate and suffering. You will welcome the dark side. Now you are ready.
Start watching
Stop watching before the pod race ends.
Play the videogame
Crash the first pod race, killing little Anakin.
Congratulations!
You’ve stopped the evil Sith lords from rising to power. You’ve saved the Ewoks. You’ve saved Jarjar. Balance in the universe remains balanced. You truly are one with the force. You are ready for the light side.
Watch
The animated series that aired on Cartoon Network. Not “The Clone Wars”!!! That’s different. Don’t watch that one. It sucks. You want the one made by Genddy Tartakovski, known for his masterpieces, Samurai Jack and Dexter’s Laboratory and his pivotal work in the series The Powerpuff Girls.
You wont need to watch anything else.
You wont want to watch anything else.
Ever.
I believe there is value in it. By not knowing about some negative role model like these youtube personalities, when my nephews are talking about them I can be more believably disinterested if I don’t know who they are. When they attempt to explain the person my continued disinterest helps them realize the person they follow isn’t that great, since they rarely do great things and my nephews might realize that as they search for reasons why they watch them. If I use my time to learn about more positive role models and activities instead, it’s easier to shift their opinions to something better. I can’t just say “X person sucks, don’t watch them” since that usually only further entrenches them in watching the drivel.
an example is when I pulled out my raspberry pi, plugged it into their tv and started playing retrogames, ignoring them while they were talking about some LTT video because i thought it was boring. it wasn’t long before they dropped their conversation and were focused on what i was doing, as I played various games on it. now they seem more interested in learning how to do that, instead of mindlessly watching some idiot.
i know that is a weak argument. i know i can also come up with examples of times my ignorance has been detrimental. like regarding idiotic political figures whom i should have learned more about, to help inform people of why they are bad, instead of sticking my head in the sand until things got a lot worse.
so i see and understand your point that it’s better to not be ignorant about internet celebrities and awful people. i still feel it is better to spend time focusing on better things, hoping that my chosen interests can outweigh my choice to ignore idiots. in the long run it all comes down to opinions i suppose.
I’m proud of the fact I don’t know who that is and even more proud that I don’t care if anyone thinks that is not impressive. I hate that I learned who poodiepie is and have yet to meet any fans that weren’t mentally challenged. It is a waste of space in my brain and I would happily live under a rock if it meant I didn’t have to know about the existance of vapid, self-centered, so-called “youtube celebrities”. They add nothing to this world of any value and wouldn’t be missed.
I fed the cable through a hole in the wall, not that it matters since the door doesn’t shut all the way. The building is old and the frame doesn’t match the door shape anymore.
It was easy to feed the line because, well, the monitor is in the hole too. It’s a big hole. Honestly, it’s kind of embarrassing. A mouse infestation took out the supports and drywall around an exhaust vent/air conditioner wall-unit thing and it fell out of the wall. Plus the landlord is a slum lord.
I can’t really do a current picture for complicated phone reasons/problems. Just imagine a monitor in this hole, instead of the portal to Narnia which I lovingly crafted in GIMP: https://i.imgur.com/BLHhUF0.gif
The monitor is in that, mostly held in with spray foam and duct tape. My rent is $325 a month, no contract, no late fees up to 3 months. My landlord is a slumlord. IDK, I feel that might help explain things around here.
My eeepc sadly died last year, it was a single core laptop i had running hannah montana linux in my bathroom as a music player.
My Precision M6400, a dual core made in 2008, is still going strong and sure, it’s slow, but it still works and has replaced the eeepc in the bathroom so now I can listen to music OR watch videos (not streaming) during my extra long showers. i don’t keep it in the bathroom, it’s on a dock in another room connected to a monitor with a really long dvi-i cable.

pet solutions
I’ve never heard this term before. My searches online aren’t bringing up anything useful, it’s all stuff about literal pets. I can’t seem to wrap my mind around what it could mean or the right thing to search to find the answer. Could someone explain please?

The ADHD aspect of computer related stuff is something I wish more people understood, Linux and beyond. I have about 45 seconds before I get distracted, that’s if I’m lucky and my phone doesn’t go off or a neighbors dog starts barking or I hear strong wind and decide to check the weather or I suddenly remember I need to mop the floor of my bathroom and a near infinite set of other possibilities. If I need to spend 15 minutes reading man pages about what arguments actually do or searching online for it and getting a short list of links dating anywhere from 2 to 20 years ago or a forum post with a dozen pages of comments then I… I… shit. What was I doing?
I probably should have used ‘smaller chips’ instead. another idea would be using ‘thinner phones’ or ‘lighter phones’. i was a weird writing headspace when i wrote that and liked the flow of going from ‘bigger’ to ‘smaller’.
Bigger monitors, smaller phones, higher color depth, lower latencies, customizable window decorations, chronal themes, AI, blockchain, more devices, trackers, architectures, platforms, malwares, internet protocols, programming languages, human languages, ads, ads, ads, ads, doom, power saving, content, content moderation and I’m sure there’s plenty more reasons that might contribute to the growth.
Not saying I like or want all those things, simply that they might be contributing to size increases. Part of me wishes we could go back, then i fire up windows xp pro sp3 on an eee pc netbook i have that miraculously still works and i remember why i prefer to stay in the present, at least until AI kills us all.
Not IT though, I’m just a guy.
as mentioned in another comment, yt-dlp works great. there are graphical versions of it that i haven’t used. i use it on linux but it has a windows version too. full discolosure, i haven’t used it to download videos in awhile, i mostly use it for music, so this info might be outdated.
the basic premise is you find the video you want to download, copy the URL, paste it into the yt-dlp program and it downloads the video.
there are a ridiculous amount of options however, the github might seem intimidating if you aren’t a programmer or very tech savvy. there are plenty of better written tutorials online. once you get it to work, it’s easy after that.
if you are in the U.S. try pornhub, xvideos, xnxx, xhamster or tblop. the ID requirements vary from state to state, so if the first 4 don’t work, keep trying off tblop until one is found. there’s also streaming archivers like archivebate and peachterbate.
one last thought, if you don’t have ublock origin, get it. if you have it, make sure to go into the options and check the all the ‘annoyances’ boxes. i think it removes the ‘we need a picture of your id’ messages on a few sites.
