Felt that it was better not to mention anyone specifically, and while it was inspired by that, it was caused by several threads yesterday I saw of everyone just bashing games left and right. However I saw your update, and while I still don’t understand why you’d want to call out the game at all if it’s not your thing, I do respect admitting you were incorrect. That’s hard to do online and rare to see, I respect that.

Yeah, me not knowing about other threads and seeing the comment, followed by the front page post meme was a funny experience. Such a deeply human-drama situation, Lemmy really is awesome haha

If you’re curious, I wrote a few of my thoughts on a comment here, kinda sorta answering why I made that call-out.

Just to ask, if it is a game you have already decided you don’t like, why even go into the comments to bash on the game and the company? From what I see, you didn’t even watch the trailer where it showed you it was a free upgrade.

I’m not trying to attack you here, I just genuinely wonder why you put so much energy into something you don’t even care about in the first place? If I don’t like something, I don’t waste my time with it at all, so I’m just curious to know why is all. Sorry if it comes off as anything other than genuine. I swear it is in good faith!

It’s hard to explain, but it’s one of the many things that are maddening to me, with AAA titles.

I’ve played absurdly good indie games. Absurdly good indie games aren’t even rare, they come out all the time, faster than someone can play even just all the ones they like.

Meanwhile, Big Games’ success happens simply because they are the only ones with access to the spotlight, and our culture absorbs them as deserving of enormous praise, masterpieces, and the like.

If you really, really, REALLY boil my point down to its core, I guess what I meant to say is

        Capitalism bad.

And when I saw the word Remaster, after Bethesda’s and Activision’s last few years of “business”, and the Cyberpunk fiasco, I was on a hair trigger.

Apart from that though, it wasn’t nearly as “Game I didn’t like” as it looks.

Hating a game is not disliking it. I really liked Witcher, and loved what it could have been. My experience playing it, was “being let down”, by all the Shit that could have been, but wasn’t.

If you want to see someone going on a deeper such spiral than me, check out SkittyBitty’s Tears of the Kingdom review, on YouTube.

Thank you for taking the time to answer!

I still don’t fully understand, but I understand more than I did, and that’s all I was going for. Thank you, again! :-)
