Record-breaking robot races are less substantial than household chore challenges.

If I was promised at least one “burst into flames” every so often, I might consider watching these.

Watched a clip yesterday and learned that compared to just last year, there were four times as many contestants and they managed to complete the race in less than half the time.

But the really fascinating things were mundane tasks like chopping vegetables.

Comparing that to what Europe has got to offer is what scares me.

The future is terrifying. How many years before ice has those things chasing people down in the streets?

ICE already has monsters chasing people down in the streets. Does it matter whether those monsters are carbon-based or silicon-based?

Never. There’s absolutely no need to use humanoid robots for that, other form factors would be much more efficient.

I wanna say it was a dynamics robot that was awkwardly jogging because of an unbalanced load. Stopped. Got on all 4 and ran off WAY faster (50-60kph) up a rocky hill.they basically said going bipedal was really just to comfort the people around it.

Oh thank God. I was worried it was going to be one of those little lunch delivery bots and that it was going to take hours for it to get around to eliminating this meat bag.

What if it’s just a flying drone, but all it does is shoot you with a never ending supply of spit balls? Just all day, every day, bullied by a drone.
