The most recent video, though, really is fucked up.

YouTube gave him a copyright strike for literal silence. For NOT playing the Sound of Silence. Then, the claimant refused his appeal, and he’s left needing to leave the video up which is demonetized for him, because of his sponsor on the video.

I’ve been checking out Peertube instances recently and finding some cool stuff. But, there are a couple of channels on YT I’d miss, and I know they won’t go anywhere else.

I got a copyright strike once because someone stole one of my songs, reposted it, and then filed a copyright claim on my original. It took months to get sorted out, but i did have to demonitize it. I imagine this must happen all the time.

When a video gets demonitized, he makes more money from the next video explaining the demonitization.

So the channel is tedious because he won’t leave YouTube. YouTube is very ripe for perturbation.

Been also checking out PeerTube more serious the last couple of days. I do like how well it integrates with Lemmy/PieFed as well as channels are just Communities on here. I am planning to post a YSK on here, as I am not sure how many know about that. I think for now its also just better (if you do not plan on creating videos yourself) UX wise to mix it with Lemmy opposed to going on PeerTube being greeted by a half empty front page.

With multicomms being a thing in Lemmy 1.0 and clients like Summit already faking it you can easily create a PeerTube feed on here.

Here are some cool channels/people I found there (some of which might look empty as nobody from here is following them):
      [email protected]
[email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] [email protected]

Kinda wish bigger YouTube Channels that are already demonetized and rely mostly on Patreon and such would make the jump.
