I’m surprised this is what OP is complaining about with Sway. I couldn’t be arsed to look at docs or tutorials yet, but I find multimonitor to be very unintuitive, unlike fullscreen.

Not sure where you got the idea that I was complaining from. This post was inspired entirely by me seeing this gif somewhere and thinking “haha super f, like the default fullscreen keybind in i3 and Sway”

It doesn’t work for me, I have it on the furthest of my peripheral vision. Same rate of stamping. So what brain disease did I just discover I have.

If you’re lucky, just a case of stubborn brain that won’t swap to auto mode lol

After your comment, I found I could do both the fast and real speed from my peripheral, just by thinking myself into active focus without moving my head or eyes.

Maybe you’re unconsciously stuck in the manual mode? Or it’s a brain tumor.

I think the effect is caused because if you look you see the context and in your head segment what is going on into different parts for your brains to analyze.

The gif is quite fast so i actually think its more that paying attention makes you take in mode detail. Make it make overal seem slowerx

When you look away you lose detail to know what part is on screen. You just see it flash/cycle between them.

The harder you start analysing it, like the autist that i am, the more the brain seems to catch up and is able to measure a more subjective time.

It’s because there are two shots in the sequence, but one of the shots (the one of Timmy) has an abrupt slide midway that seems continuous while looking at it but seems like discrete shots when in your periphery.

Looking away makes it feel like you went from “dot-dash” to “dot-dot-dot” so the whole thing suddenly seems to speed up.

    I use Super-Enter instead.

Super-F gets reserved for movement among windows, as f, b, p, and n are emacs’s movement keys, and I use emacs-style keybindings rather than vi-style keybindings in sway.
