I don’t think government can ever keep it in check. Ultimately money will control politics and laws.
I think this is probably an inevitability of any system unless incredibly strict laws and regulations are placed and can’t be removed. Like with a constitution.
We aren’t even mid stage capitalism yet but with government regulations it’s not regulating itself obviously.

If the free market is truly able to regulate itself you’ll see what capitalism’s final form is and it’s gorgeous.
