    I hope it means that AMD is going to be more competitive on the parallel compute front. That’d put pressure on Nvidia to bring their prices down.

    Righr now, Nvidia is able to charge an awful lot, because there’s little by way of alternatives.

      Intel is starting to show some fight too. Not much, but the B70 isn’t a bad offering for the right use case.

      Problem is NVIDIA has a complete stack on offer. Hardware (all the HW, not just the GPUs), networking and software stack are all tightly integrated. They didn’t do it overnight - they bought Mellanox awhile back, and Cumulus a little after that. That got them Infiniband & Ethernet products. It’s pretty impressive, and it’s a pretty big hill for the competition to compete with. Still, there’s hope.
