    Thanks for the bible verse, the next time I get asked why I’m not religious, I’ll use “I don’t want to gouge out my own eyes” as the reason. I also don’t want to whip slaves, but I think they removed that after the old testament

      God approves and disapproves of slavery in both the new testament and old testament. Also in matthew 5:17-20 Jesus very clearly states that the old testament is to be followed. So even if the new testament did not include what seems to be approval of slavery, it would still not matter. But the bible also disapproves of slavery. If you want a whole lot of stuff you can quote on what you do not want to do, I would suggest looking up the skeptics annotated bible. They make some great collections.
