If you can get food addiction I think you can get porn addiction.
I get the distinction you’re trying to make between behavioral addictions and chemical (? I forget the name) ones like alcohol addiction. But behavioral addictions by definition can be almost anything. I’d wager a good portion of us are addicted to our phones, for example.
You may have a point there, but consider this: Absolutely none of the people behind this “porn addiction” meme are qualified professionals in a position to make that distinction. Their disingenuous and manipulative nature is obvious as shit. You can argue about whether or not some form of porn addiction exists all day, but it doesn’t matter whether or not it actually exists. They don’t care how real it is or isn’t. It’s a useful tool for them to spread fascism, and that’s reason enough to throw it in the garbage.
You’re right, my opinion doesn’t mean people don’t get addicted to porn. The consensus of the scientific community carries a bit more weight though, and that’s what’s behind my opinion. Believe whatever you want, but beware the ideological company you keep.
https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC13371739/ porn addiction isn’t a term that has been adopted by science but problematic porn use or PPU is and it’s real. They did find that people from religious backgrounds called themselves addicts but weren’t always actually consuming a lot of porn.
I say this as someone who doesn’t have an issue with porn or people watching it. I fully agree that Christianity makes way too big a deal about porn and masturbation, but people def have real problems with their porn usage and not because it’s morally wrong to look at porn.

I didn’t disagree but that doesn’t mean people don’t get addicted to porn.
