I read the heading and thought you were posting sugar-free Haribo gummy bears.

Mother of God I tried them when I went Keto, I was a reverse fountain for a day… Sugar alcohol does not agree w/ my system.

It doesn’t agree with anyone’s microbiome. They should not be sold.

Go on Amazon and read some of the reviews for them. People describe the effects in very graphic detail.

Its something to do w/ your GI track can’t process them and it reeks havoc from there:

Your body can’t fully digest sugar alcohols, which can lead to some unpleasant GI symptoms when eaten in larger quantities — and they usually happen pretty soon after you eat them.

Remember Olestra? A small bag of chips and free anal leakage.

Different method of action, but yes. Turns out coating your entire GI tract in an impermeable film for a day or so is a bad idea.

Maintenance Phase did an episode on it a while ago, well worth a listen.

They’re also arguably worse for you than regular sugar also.

My one and only foray into that world. After my “incident” I looked it up and boy oh boy I didn’t know the other risks associated. Funny, nothing jumped out in the labeling to give you a heads up…
