Some games will be more obscure than others. Every game I post will have had a US release. And is a game I’ve personally played.

Can you guess the game ?
For a second, I was wondering if it’s Dominant Species. But I don’t think it had anything resembling human houses or cool UI.
Similar vein: this was my “we have war craft at home”
Can anyone name it?

Tzar!
The classic “we have Warcraft III at home”!
It actually predates ROC by a few months hahaha
It’s not Warcraft, it’s Battleart.
what are the units they look like goblins?
this is the first time i have actually no idea lol
Not the answer, but the screenshot reminds me a lot of Dragonshard from ‘05.
That looks familiar to a game I played back in mid 2000’s. The UI looks similar but I think it was white not red. Dark War, or Dark something: War.
3D houses and more pixels, must be something between 1995 and 2000. I have never played that though.
Nah def older than 2000.
Can’t be much older than that though. Rome: Total War 1 was in 2004 and looked miles prettier than this.
I’d guess majesty but I’d be incorrect, too much control over units…
Was thinking the same at first, but Majesty 1 was 2D and I don’t think Majesty 2 had quite this style
Warlords battle cry 3?
Holy shit memory unlocked
Reminds me of the Lord of the Rings Battle for Middle Earth RTS. That was a great game.
EDIT: I was thinking of War of the Ring, which is older than Battle for Middle Earth by one year.
I still have my War of the Ring discs! I should back those up. What a fun game!
Oh I have definitely played this game before! It’s a game with multiple factions and each faction collects different resources. There’s something like five resources and each faction needs 3 or so of them. Iirc these salamanders were sort of monk/magic/nature-ish or something along those lines. I think there were also humans (perhaps space marine style?) and some other species as factions.

I found the name. Is describing everything I remember about the game to an AI allowed, or does that loosely fall into something like a “no image search” rule?
The idea for the challenge is to just guess . If you can’t remember I’d consider it “against the rules” I will allow you typing in a game name you think it is and seeing the screenshots look similar.
It’s just to easy and ruins the fun for someone to pass an image to Google search or AI and they find it for you …
Warcraft 2?
It deffo has a Warcraft III vibe, but I’m pretty sure Warcraft II used flat isometric sprites. (But not sure enough so I searched for it lol)
