It has way more to do with capitalist interests blocking leftist candidates and literally sewing anti leftist ideas throughout media than it does with the actual voters. The feds have literally admitted to entering online spaces and doing exactly the things you’re talking about while pretending to be leftists. Cointelpro never ended.

Other than that, all I can really do is argue with people on the fediverse. It’s not much, and I don’t expect to convince the people I argue with. But if I can show a few bystanders another perspective which makes them think for themselves and come to their own conclusions, then maybe just maybe it’ll be enough to combat just a sliver of the concerted disinformation campaign that’s already done so much damage
