Agreed. It probably has to do with the third party (humble bundle) validation process. This functionality however is in the Steam subscriber agreement, along with “any reason we see fit”

Oh, removing stuff you didn’t pay for is pretty understandable tbh. Didn’t realise they even let you play stuff before the payment is made.
