Because they’re right - people were brainwashed and due to their (lack of) voting choice we let him have power again. Too many people chose to stay home instead of voting for the viable candidate who could have kept this shit show (that literally everyone) saw coming.
Yeah, the candidate we had available didn’t get a primary and was less than ideal. But that choice would have been objectively better than what we have now. Too many thought getting less than nothing was better than that, so here we are. Instead of having a chance at influencing the government, we handed the reigns of justice to a fucking dictator wannabe.
Maybe the party will learn a different lesson from the left abandoning them other than the same lesson they’ve taken from it for the last 50 years. Clearly, this methodology is a working one…
It was not the workings of the elections that allowed Trump to win, but it is a flawed democracy that is guilty of granting him way to much power.
A parliamentarian system of many parties forming a government is a better system, but Americans can’t be excused for electing Trump just because their democracy is flawed.
