To be fair, I liked reddit. It was a good platform.
But recently quality of life went down, stupid changes were made. You know, not the type that makes you leave reddit.
But then, few days ago, they started asking for age verification via ID or selfie (using Persona). I couldn’t access my alt account at all anymore because of this. That was too far for me. (And they reset my feed and subscriptions on my main account, now it seems I am a new user with 68k karma.)
So I left and came here. This is not that good yet, due to not being popular enough, but we’ll get there.

I’m still figuring out this whole Lemmy thing but jeez reddit is just a cesspool of utter garbage. Feels much better being here!

Thank fuck, I got a Reddit ban (permanent) 12 years down the shitter cause I compared the actions of modern day Israel to a certain historical German political party… don’t think they liked that one! And it was instant too, soon as I posted I got a “GraphQL” error then like 30 seconds later a message saying my account was banned for “promoting hate”
So far, yes, seems we can say things that are basically objectively true.

We made something better, I moderate and try to keep alive communities, what they do? nothing but complain about how reddit does not let them speak freely or something.
