I have used “#@%!!” Before like some comics do while playing a moba. I am over 3 decades old.

I want to express some frustration but also signal to not take it too seriously. Its just a game, i am not actually mad. If a game makes you mad you should stop playing.

Kids might also be playing the same game and while i am not afraid to “hurt” them with swears i do thing it helps create a more friendly atmosphere not to start “flaming” every time things don’t go as hoped. At the same time communicating frustration in the game is a way to cope as a team, and maybe change strategy.

I also thinks its just way more funny and there is some creativity in making the different symbols look good as a set.

But it does entice people to act surprised and ask “if i am too young to swear” or something. Do they prefer if i was actually mad and cursing? Do they think some actual mad child is going out their way to censor themselves in the heat of moment?
