Anyone else notice the influx of anti-platner rhetoric the closer we get to elections?

The fact that liberals and conservatives are spending against him tells me what I need to know.

Huh? Libs are spending for him, he is being pushed by the consultancy firm “fight agency”. The firm behind Fetterman. And you’ll be hard pressed to find conservatives here.

Is it really so hard to believe that people just don’t trust the former abu ghraib guard and blackwater mercenary that said he was in it for the love of killing, who got the insignia of the SS units staffing the nazi concentration camps tattooed on his chest? And then defended people getting SS bolt tattoos???

Got some sources for that? Cause I’m finding Fox News and idk if I trust that lol.

        https://www.foxnews.com/politics/platners-anti-corporate-crusade-hits-awkward-snag-receipts-tell-another-story

Liberals are most certainly against him with most of the hit pieces coming from DNC or Democrat backed articles. You’ve got establishment democrats that vote with republicans saying that he should be disqualified.

The Blackwater connection is documented and worth talking about. The tattoo is documented and worth talking about. The Reddit posts are documented and worth talking about. None of that is off the table. But “former Abu Ghraib guard who said he was in it for the love of killing” is a very specific claim and you should be able to source that independently of Fox News or DNC opposition research.

The tattoo was covered within 48 hours of him learning about the association. His former campaign director said he should have known given his military history background, which is a fair criticism. His Army background check apparently didn’t flag it, which is either evidence he didn’t know or evidence the system failed. Both are possible. Neither is a clean answer.

The Reddit posts are the harder thing to dismiss. PTSD and depression are real explanations but they’re not automatic absolution, especially the sexual assault comments.

What I’m pushing back on is the pattern of concerns arriving in a coordinated way right before an election against someone who’s running explicitly against the establishment and has Sanders backing. That’s not saying the concerns aren’t real but the timing and the sources matter and deserve the same scrutiny you’re applying to him.

It sounds like you’ve not actually talked to anyone in real life. Go to Maine. Talk to the people. Listen to the platform. You can’t let go of words for actions. You’ve been online too long.

Is it so hard to believe that someone who has experienced the disgust of our system can wake up to it? Isn’t that the whole point? Or are you on the side that no one is redeemable and undesirables should be deported/executed?

Meanwhile Israel is murdering children, Trump is murdering children

This guy went on tour in Iraq not once, not twice, but 3 times then one more in Afghanistan and regretted it all so much he went once more as a blackwater merc. He then, full of regret, boasted on reddit about making a makeshift mortar to bomb urban areas after it got forbidden to shell them because the civilian murder count got too high even for the US army. He regretted his blackwater merc tour so much he said he wears his blackwater cap just to troll people who remember their savage butchery and are offended by it. He regretted his tattoo and the company he kept so much he defended others getting SS bolts tattooed.

If only he had stated his regret before it became a political liability for him.

Oh and of course he gets endorsed by Bernie “I’ll not call it genocide for two whole years” Sanders and Chuck “I’ll make sure the left remains pro-pissrael” Schumer.

This guy is controlled opposition through and through and it would be so sad to see all you yanks fall for it again but the reality is you all don’t just fall for it but desperately latch onto any excuse to keep voting dem. Please one more vote, this time we can vote fascism out I swear, this abu ghraib guard is one of the good ones!.. It’s pathetic. Get organized. Look into PSL or any org in your area and start doing something. Voting isn’t going to fix shit and there will be no candidate that gets anything done until you start doing something about it.

Dude is clearly human, had had some real growth, and is running almost out of obligation.

You mean he’s running because he was hand-picked by a consultancy firm Fight Agency and his stated goal is to rebuild the US military.

Meanwhile Israel is murdering children, Trump is murdering children, Putin is murdering children

And Graham Platner who also murdered children and said he loved doing it

the tldr version answer to your question is that his foreign policy is the same as nixon’s, reagan’s, obama’s, biden’s, or trump’s and his recommendations guarantee that isreal will continue murdering children, but with an improve mask of plausible deniability.

what’s truly confusing about platner is that he’s literally branded himself as a nazi; has multiple pictures of him w nazis; and speaks fondly of doing nazis things, but people still question whether or not he’s a nazi.

        I mean…

Susan Collins has been voting for imperialistic wars and rubber stamping war crimes. I look at the things Platner says and it seems clear that is is less blood thirsty than these elites.

i’ve seen some of those before, and they make it clear that this person is an ex-mercenary version of someone like kate abughazaleh: someone who insists on calling themselves a leftist but clearly isn’t one. their liberal worldview betrays them—they have no idea how their own goals serve only to deepen this late-stage capitalist colonial misery that keeps breeding terrorism and inequality for all.

So when you read sections like this you assume he is lying? Because I read that and see dark humor and a person who has struggled with experience and choices in his life.

when i read that, i see some parallel version of myself if were a i was a mercenary. just like planter, i too am a liberal who prefers to think of himself as a leftist, but i have the benefit of being too queer to have ever been indoctrinated the way he clearly has.

my leftist education comes from two places: written retrospectives of the only successful leftist movements of the past two centuries, and the legally mandated confessions of the neoliberal oligarchy that shaped us. i’m still a neophyte to leftism and clearly so most of the time – but even at my level, i can see where planter or abughazaleh (or even mamdani) fall woefully short of understanding leftism due to both of those educational sources making it clear what rightism is.

Because it was never a real issue. Stephen Miller says and acts like a Nazi, but no tattoos. Grahm acts like a person from Maine with a military background but had a Nazi adjacent tatoo… I am going to support the one who is NOT acting like or saying things that Nazi’s say.

and everything about Platner seems on the up and up and like there are political motivations against him. They also never seem to offer an alternative, other than the fascist status quo and I am not ok with that.

              https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/conditions/antisocial-personality-disorder

              • Failure to conform to basic social norms, often in ways that violate the law

              • Repeated violation of the physical or emotional rights of others
              • Lack of stability in job and home life; may go through long periods of unemployment, for example, even in localities or situations where jobs are readily available
              • Irritability and aggression; may get into frequent fights
              • Lack of remorse after harming someone or their property
              • Consistent irresponsibility
              • Recklessness, impulsivity
              • Deceitfulness
              • A childhood diagnosis (or symptoms consistent with) conduct disorder should generally be present before the age of 15 years

More generally, people with antisocial personality disorder may seem to lack empathy for the people around them, behave in arrogant or cocky ways, or have an excessively cynical view of the world. In some cases, they can appear charming on first meeting, though their charm is often glib and superficial.

Alternative: vote third, write in, anything but vote for a literal Nazi.
