What is the original painting called again? I can’t find it.
Saturn Devouring His Son
Michelangelo devouring his lunch
Why is this so horrifying and beautiful?
Is it… encouraging or depressing? I don’t know…
Even as I close my eyes the image remains, haunting my soul…
Cowabunga
Probably because the original depicts a cyclops devouring a man in a scene from The Odyssey
I want this framed and in my kitchen
I’m sure it’s out there!
Or maybe… I hire a local painter to paint my kitchen wall with it. Make the art come full circle.
Happy World Turtle Day, everybody! 🐢🌍
This is wonderful timing.
MICHELANGELO MY GOAT <3
amazing.
I remember seeing the real one as a teenager at La Reina Sofia and loving it. Also saw and became obsessed with El Greco there.
Yeah, the whole exhibit on Goya is a trip. You walk through this guy’s decades of professional work leading up to the war, his fall into depression, and the black paintings. I really can’t recommend it enough.
Me, crouched in front of the fridge at 3 in the morning.

Ha, that’s pretty cool.
