People still don’t realize how much if internet is just hustling. If something pays they will spam the shit out of it to get paid. That’s even true before llms.
Instructions unclear. GPU stuck in cooling valve.
Isn’t the simplest explanation that scammers/spammers have discovered that anti AI memes perform well and they are spamming them to build page reputation?
social media creates a highly-competitive media environment
we learn that what comes out on top in a competitive environment is ragebait, and social media sees increasing amounts of it
It’d be nice if humanity were less attracted to outrage-inducing content and more to, say, catgirls or something.
You can blame American puritism for that.
No sexual content on these websites, instead we’re going to stir up rage and sell everyone an AR-14.
the fediverse in a nutshell (unmonetized environment that doesn’t reward ragebait blatantly)
Even fedi still has a ragebait slop problem. Look at the abysmal quality of articles that gets posted here and look at the responses.
we definitely need more catgirls, i don’t know what that is but it sounds good. Even if my first inclination is that the majority will be femboys. Those guys work hard so I’m willing to give them their due support
It’s almost so obvious that it probably gets mentioned in the linked article…
Spoiler:
!it does!<
I did read the article but I called my shot before I looked.
Not the onion is thataway.
Dead Internet theory…
The internet is not dead but the brains of the yankkkee dumb dumb be dead… Thank gaed for the gippity… gippity gonna save us all 🤤
I’m reminded of that recent incident where it was discovered that the South African regulatory agency responsible for writing rules for the safe and appropriate use of AI had used an LLM to generate the text they submitted and apparently not validated it prior to the submission.
It’s a good thing my ideology isn’t centered around opposition to propaganda people churn out. Russian bots promoted Black Lives Matter. One guy used AI to create anti-Muslim hate rhetoric alongside inspirational Qur’an quotes.
Social media badly needs engagement to survive, and that’s what these posts are for.
To beat the enemy we must become him!
