Something still seems weird. Why would the cover and wall be so very sooty / charred, while the actual outlet material is relatively unscathed? Sure there are some streaks/marks, but it’s basically clean compared to the completely charred cover.

  I’m guessing something was plugged in the bottom one that caused the fire.
