Today’s game is Ghost of Tsushima. I finally finished the main story for a second time. I think having gotten a chance to mature when I played this the second time has let me pick up on a lot of themes I didn’t before.
Spoiler

One such one I was going to note was the symbolism of Jin not having any honor, while Shimura is a “Slave” to honor.
On retrospect though I’ve been weighing this. Half in my head I’ve been wondering if the Khan is the one without Honor, and Jin is instead the “Middle Ground”. But also I don’t think that’s necessarily true, because he adopts a lot of their things that make them dishonorable, so he’s more so the idealized morally good version of that.

I also got these lovely sunset photos of the duel I wanted to share. The sunset and silhouette really bring out the picture to me.

In the epilogue I also noticed Jin has Shimura’s armor. It makes me wonder how he got it. I have to assume he stole it. Then again there’s all those Easter eggs of other Sony franchises so maybe it’s best not to question it.

Next time I play I’d like to get to the DLC, so I guess that’s kind of next on my list. I promised myself I’d finish this before anything else so I’d like to stick to that. Then go back and clean my backlog.
Ghost of Tsushima is stunning! The art style is incredible. When I need a break from heavy games like this, I usually switch to some casual browser games to relax. Beautiful screenshot btw!
I always go to a private halo game (or really any private multiplayer game) with friends when I need a break from heavy games. I know it sounds counterproductive but I find it turns into social hour with them so it’s less about any sort of winning and more just dicking around in a private lobby for an hour or two
I wish the steam version didn’t require a PlayStation account. Is buy it otherwise.
I think it’s only the online that requires it currently. I don’t remember ever having to sign up with them. I may be wrong though
I’ve been lurking in your posts since day one, I admire your commitment!
Heh, if this is your first comment, I laud your commitment to wait till 667th day.
Regarding your spoiler, I always contemplated the same thing.

It’s a deeply cultural phenomenon where they’d rather die upholding their beliefs than give an inch. It is a great look at Bushido and how that era ended but it’s also open to allegory in a million different ways including religion, progressivism, globalism, just to name a few.
Spoiler
I think it being an open allegory is especially true. I found myself even applying it to myself in my personal life in a few ways even
It’s 6 hundred and six-seven!
(Sorry, I have young kids)
Lmao. I have younger siblings so I already hear it quite a bit
Maybe you can dab on 'em next
Oh, I do. What’s the point of having kids if you can’t embarrass them with outdated memes. 😀
