We could always simply change the rules and boom now it is illegal. What’s the argument then lol. Rules are made up so claiming “well it’s not against the rules” is a retarded argument cuz we can simply change the rules. It’s not good to have undocumented people in the country which is why civilized countries don’t allow this

can we step asside, are you going about this from an anarchist side, like rules are arbitrary and the state can declare anyone illegal, and that is BAD.

Or as a conservative, that thinks immigrants are bad criminals?

because so far I interpreted the later.

Neither? I was making an argument against the logic not really a political position as I am neither an anarchist nor a conservative. China is a Marxist state and they don’t allow unregulated immigration as it dilutes any sense of nationalism and shared cultural identity and the result of this is a very unified country given their population.

If it’s not “a crime” to be undocumented then we could simply make this a crime and problem solved. The people who are upset about enforcement of civil crimes as if they are illegal have no more ground to stand on and America can still have rules that help maintain a national identity. Appeal to the rules is a bad logical argument as it presupposes that rules are eternal and made by God and I’m more of a materialist myself
