Except if you look at all of Christian history and all of Christian doctrine you would understand that it’s not the No True Scotsman fallacy. It’s literally against all of what Jesus taught. He went so far as to teach that hating someone is equivalent to killing them. Just because some people choose to claim Christianity and do non-Christian things does not negate the core of Christianity.
It doesn’t matter what Christianity teaches because Christians act against Christianity all the time— this is reflected in their prejudices that are specific amongst them.
It’s not “some”, homophobia is the default amongst Christianity.
It’s wildly fallacious to suggest the majority of christians *don’t * hate gay men.
Then let’s look at modern Christianity. Let’s look at what they are doing right now, because that’s where we all are, that’s what’s relevant and that is their truth.
This is like when conservatives try the old “LiNCoLn WuZ A rePuBLiCaN!” That’s completely fucking irrelevant to modern times, nomenclature, culture, and politics, and that includes religion, none of them are the same thing they were 2000 years ago and it’s absurdly stupid to imply that they are. Look at them for what they are.
No True Scotsman fallacy.
Christians wish death upon gay men all the time.
I will reiterate that homophobia kills, and christians are indefensibly homophobic, as a fact.
There’s a lot that’s against christian doctrines. The vast majority don’t care to follow most/all of them.
