    You don’t really need to do finite element analysis on a truss though. It’s solvable with some simple equations usually. It’s been a long time for me though so maybe I’m wrong

      For a plank, it is. For anything else, where you are using more complex shapes and more than one material, no finite firm is known, so FEM all the way (or some other simulation technique)
