Sure, kde shares a lot of the conventions of Windows. But it’s also very willing to do its own thing.
You’re entirely right, I’m just presenting it in terms of familiarity, or entry point. People who where used to discord would have an easier time with a discord-like UI and functionalities, but nothing would keep them from exploring other matrix clients in the end (in the case of Commet).
