To be fair, a few trinkets shut in a chest might have been something brought back from the war by a GI, rather than the basement shrines I was thinking of.

No he was German and it was his grandpas chest and it was definitely an SS uniform and an SS dagger. He was an ok guy but his grandpa was definitely an SS
