I mean yeah? that’s the point? Most newbies we accept are a net drag on team performance while getting up to scratch, then once they get good are in a better position to negotiate a raise with us or negotiate with our competitors for employment at a higher rate
Exactly. I’m in Enterprise IT and it can easily take 1-2 years at a new company before you’re fully comfortable with their systems.
Like, my first promotion from help desk was to an esoteric field (computer telephony integration) and the former IT director said it would take 2 years for me (only took 6 months because I enjoy digging into systems).
