From the post:

River City Girls: Perfect Attendance Collection is coming to Switch and PS5! Published by Clear River Games and arriving next year, this physical collection includes River City Girls 1, 2, & Zero, plus the Double Dragon DLC, all on cart/disc! https://shop.clearrivergames.com/collections/river-city

I hope companies keep going to pushing preservation-oriented medias, instead of the glorified DRMs and killswitches that DLCs, game key cards, Denuvo and the sort go for.

Would anyone buy a SDCard with a game on it that could just be put into a steam deck or something to run it? if I could buy SDCards or some physical media for a game that’s made easier to start or get into Steam or other launcher … I honestly don’t know if I would, but it sounds really interesting IMO. Collectors physical sdcard or something idk

Yes, but if it costs extra, which it would have to, it would probably have to be from a franchise that I really like and have a pretty high confidence level I’d like new entry to the series.

Actually, this feels like exactly what demos are for. Play the demo, then decide if it’s something you like enough to get the physical copy of. Or if you just buy the digital edition, the opportunity to get a physical copy for the price difference between the physical and digital versions. That would probably be a better system for indie games, where you really don’t know what you’re getting into, but might end up loving it.

Personally there are several franchises that I’d buy physical releases of on pc like I used to do for consoles. Quite a few of them I still have on my shelf for systems up to Wii and 3DS, but have been fully pc and thus digital since then.

And tbh not sure on SD in particular. It feels like an obvious answer, but flash doesn’t have the best longevity. A big part of me feels like we largely gave up on Blu-ray way too soon

Dunno how feasible SD cards would be, but USB sticks with plenty of goods that came along like Indiebox did, personally I’d get.

I somehow missed the three kingdoms game, excited for that too
