You can’t legislate your way into a higher birth rate. Even authoritarian countries have tried and failed. But you can legislate systemic changes that help people with housing, childcare, and groceries.
Not really, standard progressive legislation is seen everywhere from Germany to California.
I guess it would seem extreme left if your only window into politics was a right leaning news feed. A lot of US conservatives have been learning about all kinds of social programs now that its in the news that Trump is dismantling them.
I wonder what sort of programs will be cut if the UK swings right next election? Universal Credit? Disabled Facilities Grants? Cold Weather Payments?
