Granted, it’s filtered through leftist sources, but the heart of the matter is that he has been losing popularity and some people like MTG have done a 180 solely based on this. You can tell some yokels are uncomfortable and I say that’s a small advantage you can’t overlook. It’s a crack in the shining armor.
